Expertini Spotlight

Publish your HR and staffing news to a public, share-ready daily reel — every item with its own permanent link, photos and video, and one-tap sharing. The newsletter, replaced.

3 min read · Updated July 2026 · Expertini Editorial

Expertini Spotlight is the platform's public news channel: a daily reel of short HR, recruitment, workplace, and staffing-industry items at ats.expertini.com/spotlight — each one a headline, a two-line summary, and the media that carries it. Readers scan it in seconds, search it, browse it by day, and share any item to X, LinkedIn, Facebook, or WhatsApp with one tap. Nobody is ever asked to sign up: Spotlight deliberately replaces the classic email newsletter with something people can simply visit and share.

As an ATS customer, you publish to it. From the dashboard, owners and admins compose an item in under a minute — a title of 55–75 characters, a summary of 100–130, up to three photos and one video shown as a slider — and it goes live on the reel with its own permanent URL. Product launches, funding news, new office, a hiring milestone, research your team published: if the HR and staffing community should see it, Spotlight is where it goes.

01A reel, not a newsletter

The classic company newsletter asks for an email address, lands in a crowded inbox, and dies unread. Spotlight inverts the model: the news lives at a public URL that search engines index and people share, every item is deliberately short (the character limits are enforced, not suggested), and the media slider — up to three photos and a video per item — makes each one worth opening. Categories cover the whole industry conversation: recruitment and hiring, HR technology, artificial intelligence, workplace and culture, diversity and inclusion, compensation, labour-market news, executive appointments, product launches, events, awards, partnerships, and more.

02Publishing from the ATS

The publisher lives in your dashboard under Marketing. Live character counters keep the title and summary in range, the category is a type-to-search pick, and photos preview before you publish. On publish you get an email with the live link; your published items are listed right below the composer, where you can edit the text (the URL never changes), share, copy the link, or delete — deleting removes the item and its media completely.

03Every item is checked — honestly

Spotlight is a public feed, so every submission passes the same content rules that protect job postings on the Expertini network: items containing prohibited content are held for a quick human review — usually within 24 hours — and you're emailed either way, the live link on publish or a courteous review notice. Edits re-enter the same check. That's what keeps the reel a trustworthy read for the whole community, which is precisely what makes publishing there worth your while.

04What it costs

Nothing extra. Spotlight publishing is included on every plan, Trial onward — see pricing. Your news carries your organisation's name as the author, and sharing is unlimited.

Platform architecture & operations

A1Architecture: where it sits in the platform

Expertini Spotlight is a first-class module of the Marketing suite inside the authenticated Expertini ATS workspace. The platform is deliberately server-rendered: every view is prepared by the application server and shipped as complete HTML, with no client-side framework, no third-party CDN scripts, and no build pipeline between the data and the page. What renders is what the server computed — the property that makes the interface auditable.

All persistence runs on a single search-native document store; every query carries the organisation's identifier as a mandatory filter at the lowest query layer. Tenant isolation is therefore structural — a property of how every request is composed — rather than a policy that relies on application code remembering to check.

Availability is governed by the platform's tool registry: this tool is registered from the Trial plan, and access is enforced server-side by the registry gate on every request — never by hiding a button. Plans also carry a monthly distinct-tool quota (3 / 5 / 15 / 30 / 45 across Trial→Business, unlimited on Enterprise), counted at the same chokepoint. The pricing page states both honestly: what is available, and how much of it the month includes.

A2Data model and dependency map

In production the tool reads and writes ats_spotlight. Documents are plain, explicitly-mapped fields — mappings are provisioned ahead of first write, so term filters and aggregations behave deterministically instead of depending on inferred types.

The tool keeps a lightweight usage count rather than a per-event journal — a deliberate cost/benefit decision for standalone utilities, stated here because honest reporting matters more than impressive-looking telemetry.

Anything that leaves the request path — notification fan-out, webhook delivery, activity journalling, mail — runs in fire-and-forget background threads. A slow external endpoint can never make the interface hang, and a failed side effect is logged rather than silently retried into inconsistency.

A3Operational considerations

Organisation-level settings, destructive actions, and connections are gated to owner and admin roles; recruiters operate the tool on the records they can see. Role changes apply on the next request — enforcement is at the route, not in the menu.

Failures are surfaced, not swallowed: server-side validation returns the exact field and reason, vendor errors are quoted verbatim where integrations are involved, and every write either confirms or reports. Exports regenerate on request rather than being cached — a report you download reflects the store at the moment you asked, not last night's snapshot.

Everything written is yours to take: CSV exports and the Data Export app cover the same stores the product itself reads. The exit is as open as the entrance — by design, not concession.

A4Interaction contract

The interface follows the platform's search-and-select convention: any field that names a real record — a candidate, client, or job — is a type-to-search picker over live data, never a free-typed string, which is what keeps activity trails and deduplication trustworthy. Static choices are filter-as-you-type combos rather than native dropdowns, and state transitions give explicit feedback: server confirmations surface as toasts, validation errors name the exact field, and nothing is shown as done that the server has not confirmed.

The wireframe and flow below document the structural contract of the surface — what panels exist, what order the states occur in, and what happens at every edge — rather than pixels. The layout is composed with native CSS grid and flexbox and adapts from wide desktop to a single column without separate mobile views.

Frequently asked questions

Who can publish to Spotlight?
Owners and admins of any Expertini ATS organisation, on every plan including the Trial. Recruiters can read and share everything; publishing is limited to privileged roles because items appear on a public page under your organisation's name.
Why are the title and summary lengths enforced?
Because the reel only works if every item scans in seconds. A title of 55–75 characters and a summary of 100–130 is enough to say one thing clearly — the discipline is the format.
Can I edit or delete an item after publishing?
Yes — from the publisher page. Edits keep the same permanent URL and re-enter the content check; deleting removes the item and its media entirely.
What media can an item carry?
Up to three photos (JPG, PNG, or WebP, 5 MB each) and one MP4 video (up to 60 MB), shown as a slider on the item's page. The first photo is the card image on the reel.
Do readers need an account?
No. Spotlight is fully public — no sign-up, no paywall, no email capture. That's the point: news people can actually reach and share.
